We are seeking an Audio Visual (AV) and Video Teleconference (VTC) Design Engineer who embraces challenges, is a motivated self-starter, and is versatile with strong market/products knowledge, analytical skills, and creativity to develop and evaluate AV designs and solutions. Candidate must have extensive knowledge of audio, video, and control systems, as well as architectural and cabling requirements. The selected candidate will interface with other technical and non-technical individuals from within the company, other contractors, and Government customers. Our primary customer is supporting United States Special Operation Forces (SOF) who we provide an array of AV/VTC solutions to meet their mission requirements.
This position is located in San Diego. There is no relocation assistance available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to San Diego or surrounding areas.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of related work experience OR High School diploma and at least 8 years of related experience
AV/VTC system design and installation experience
Knowledge of Crestron/AMX/Extron products and technology solutions
BiAmp/ClearOne DSP programming experience
Ability to work independently in troubleshooting complex system issues
Ability to initiate, prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Active security clearance
Bachelor s degree in a technical discipline
Crestron/AMX/Extron control system programming experience
CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I
Understanding of Information Assurance (IA), TEMPEST, and ICD 705 considerations and requirements
Knowledge of building construction methods and materials
Familiarity or experience with United States Special Operations Command and its component combatant commands
Familiarity with military and DoD customer organizations

Tasks
- Design complex graphics and animation, using independent judgment, creativity, and computer equipment.
- Create basic designs, drawings, and illustrations for product labels, cartons, direct mail, or television.
- Participate in design and production of multimedia campaigns, handling budgeting and scheduling, and assisting with such responsibilities as production coordination, background design, and progress tracking.
- Create two-dimensional and three-dimensional images depicting objects in motion or illustrating a process, using computer animation or modeling programs.
- Make objects or characters appear lifelike by manipulating light, color, texture, shadow, and transparency, or manipulating static images to give the illusion of motion.
- Apply story development, directing, cinematography, and editing to animation to create storyboards that show the flow of the animation and map out key scenes and characters.
- Implement and maintain configuration control systems.
- Script, plan, and create animated narrative sequences under tight deadlines, using computer software and hand drawing techniques.
- Develop briefings, brochures, multimedia presentations, web pages, promotional products, technical illustrations, and computer artwork for use in products, technical manuals, literature, newsletters, and slide shows.
- Create and install special effects as required by the script, mixing chemicals and fabricating needed parts from wood, metal, plaster, and clay.
- Assemble, typeset, scan, and produce digital camera-ready art or film negatives and printer's proofs.
- Convert real objects to animated objects through modeling, using techniques such as optical scanning.
- Create pen-and-paper images to be scanned, edited, colored, textured, or animated by computer.
- Use models to simulate the behavior of animated objects in the finished sequence.
